Stuart Irwin Lauterbach, age 86 years, of Boynton Beach, FL, former longtime resident of Flemington, NJ, died on Sunday, February 14, 2016 in Bethesda Hospital East, Boynton Beach, FL.
Born and raised in Yonkers, NY, November 12, 1929 son of the late Edward and Martha Lewis Lauterbach, Stuart went on to graduate from NYU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management. In 1969 he founded Flemington Supply Co., Flemington, NJ, which he operated with his beloved wife, Barbara Horwitz Lauterbach, who preceded him in death on July 3, 2012 after forty-three years of marriage.
A longtime member of the Flemington Jewish Community Center, Stuart faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged at the wars end.
In addition to his wife and parents, Stuart was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Lauterbach.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Dava and Larry Berezin; his son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Roslyn Lauterbach; his grandchildren, David Holop and wife, Julie, Julie Klein and husband, Drew, Robbie Holop and wife, Karen, and Jordan Berezin; two great granddaughters, Natalie Klein and Evie Cecelia Holop; a sister, Ruth Hutter; and his companion for the past three years, Kaley Stern.
Funeral services officiated by Rabbi Joshua Z. Gruenberg will take place on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Flemington Jewish Community Center, 5 Sergeantsville Road, Flemington, NJ 08822 under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
Burial next to his cherished wife will follow in the Flemington Jewish Community Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ.
