Suzanne Dorothy Leupold, age 72 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at her home.
Born in Doylestown, PA, May 29, 1947, daughter of the late George and Mary Waisempacher Lesko, she was a lifelong Hunterdon County, NJ resident.
A 1966 graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School, she had formerly owned and operated Town & Country Beauty Shop, Flemington, NJ, along with her sister, Georgia. Suzie was known to make her customers feel as beautiful on the inside as she did with their hair and cosmetology. She also worked for the State of New Jersey as a Judicial Clerk in Somerville, NJ for many years.
Vibrant and vivacious, Suzie breathed life into anywhere she went. Her caring and motherly nature, despite having no children of her own, made her loved and admired by anyone she knew. She was the one you could confide in, get great advice from, and of course, ‘belly’ laugh with.
Always in a good mood, she enjoyed spending time in Florida and loved Hawaii and anywhere tropical. She was most comfortable with a book, sitting out in the sun and appreciating its warmth and beauty. She also enjoyed the beach, and many fond family memories were made at Seaside Heights down at the Jersey Shore.
The Dali Lama once said, “A simple smile. That’s the start of opening your heart and being compassionate to others.” Suzie did not know the Dali Lama, but he surely had her in mind when he said those words as her smile was omnipresent, and her heart always open to anyone. Though her sudden death is hard for all to process, she stated many times that when her time on Earth was done, she wanted everyone to smile and keep putting love out into the word for it was the only way to truly LIVE. If you are reading this, please honor her wish every day and in all that you do.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ellen A. Chromeck and Georgia M. Mina; her brother-in-law whom she cared for many years after her sister died, Peter J. Mina; and her brother-in-law, Harry Quick.
Surviving are a sister, Gloria A. Quick; her aunt and uncle, Albert and Jane Waisempacher; her nieces and nephews, Shelly Corrado, Darcy Corrado, Leigh-Ann Hutchins, Michael Chromeck, Donald Quick, and Marlin Quick; her dear friend, Sherri Hallett; her cherished four-legged companion, her princess dog Bella; several extended family; and many dear friends.
Suzie will lie in repose on Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. – Noon in the Chapel of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
Life celebration services officiated by Rev. David Errickson will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Noon at the funeral home.
