Sylvester J. Rafalko, age 61 years, of Franklin Township, Warren County, NJ, died suddenly on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at his home.
Born in Lancaster, PA, April 12, 1955, son of Rita Ann Tinklepaugh Rafalko of Raritan Township, NJ and the late Sylvester Adam Joseph Rafalko, he had resided in Franklin Township for the past fourteen years, having formerly lived in Glen Gardner, Kingwood Township, Ringoes and Hillsborough, NJ.
He was the owner and operator of C.A.R.S. Auto Body, Clinton, NJ for the past thirty years.
A devoted family man, he will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him for his humor and his willingness to help anyone he could.
A self taught drummer, guitarist and pianist, Sylvester was an avid hunter and fisherman. Some of his fondest times were spent at the families lake house off of Lake Ontario.
In addition to his father who died in 1994, he was preceded in death by an uncle, Edward John Rafalko in 2013.
Surviving are his wife of thirty-seven years, Joyce Giammarco Rafalko with whom he joined hands in marriage on January 29, 1979; his daughter, Tiffany Rafalko of Clinton, NJ and her longtime companion, Justin Harvey; his mother, Rita Ann Rafalko of Raritan Township, NJ; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cindy and Dan Hudock and Susan and Craig Wilson, all of Asbury, NJ; his mother-in-law, Deloris Giammarco of Merritt Island, FL; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Salvatore and Nicole Giammarco; and a niece and her husband, Kimberly and William Schreefer.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Timothy Christie will take place on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in the family plot in St. Magdalen Cemetery, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
Calling hours will be Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. as well as Monday, July 18, 2016 from 9:00-10:00 a.m., all at the funeral home.
