Theresa A. Tibaldi, age 91 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born on August 3, 1931, in North Plainfield, NJ, daughter of the late Dominick and Rose Bonfantino LaCamera, Theresa was raised and had lived in North Plainfield for most of her life, having spent five years in Middlesex, NJ, prior to moving to Palmer Township, PA, in 1997.
A longtime cafeteria and general school aide at Hazelwood Elementary School, Middlesex, NJ, Theresa was much loved by the thousands of students that passed through her care over the years. She was a second mother to many of them, and her genuine and nurturing persona allowed her to influence the lives of her students in a positive way.
Marrying her beloved husband, Daniel, the couple would have two sons that became the light in Theresa’s life, Daniel, Jr. and Thomas. She would then be promoted to the title that made her smile from ear to ear, that of “Grandma” to Anthony, who she took care of daily while he was an infant, providing him with a love that only a doting grandmother could provide.
In addition to her grandson and the wonderful “daughters” that her sons married, Theresa truly embraced the unconditional love and companionship of her childrens’ pets, especially their dogs. Known to her as her “other grandchildren”, these animal companions and the excitement they brought her will always be remembered as a special bond which she truly cherished.
A devout Catholic, Theresa was a longtime communicant of St. Jane Frances de Chantel Catholic Church, Palmer Township, PA. For many years she took part in the St. Jane Senior Circle and enjoyed visiting at the Padre Pio Shrine, Barto, PA. Additionally, her compassionate heart and loving persona enabled her to volunteer for Easton Home Health & Hospice, an organization whose mission and people were very dear to her heart.
Devoted to family and God, Theresa’s passing will leave a physical void in the lives of many, but her love will live on through those same multitude of people. To honor her, is to continue to shine God’s love out in a world which sorely needs His light. In Matthew 25:23 it is written: His Lord said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” Thank you, Theresa, for showing what the love of a wife, mother, grandmother, and true friend can do in the world. Rest in the sweetest peace that you have truly earned.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Dominick; her husband, Daniel A. Tibaldi, Sr.; her brothers, Nicholas, Mike, Joe, John, and Tony LaCamera; and a sister, Ann McDonald.
Surviving are her two sons and their wives who Theresa referred to as her daughters, Daniel A. Tibaldi, Jr. and Marie, and Thomas D. Tibaldi and Tommarie; her grandson, Anthony and his wife, Megan; a sister, Helen Pellegrino; several loving nieces, nephews, and extended family; and many dear friends.
