Viola (Violet) Marie Giaquinto DeBaylo Catrini, age 84 years, of Zephyrhills, FL, died peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Suncoast Bayfront Hospice, St. Petersburg, FL.
“Vi” was born on May 6, 1933 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, daughter of the late Benneditto and Filicia Giaquinto.
She was a 1951 graduate of Highland Park High School, Highland Park, NJ and had formerly lived in Edison and the Croton section of Flemington, NJ.
In 1953 she married to George J. DeBaylo. As George was in the United States Navy, she traveled many places around the world when they were first married. The couple moved to Flemington in 1963, where she worked at the local Credit Union, located at the time near Hunterdon Medical Center.
In 1972, she moved to Pass-A-Grille Beach, FL where she assisted running the local Motel. She then worked at Sperry Rand and finally as a Property Manager at Point Brittany Towers.
In 1998, she married Phillip Catrini and the two moved to Zephyrhills, FL where she resided until her passing.
Among some of Vi’s enjoyments, besides being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, was playing golf with the Sperry Rand Golf League, going to garage sales with her granddaughters and collecting antiques.
A woman of faith, Vi was a former longtime member of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ and later on St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, St. Pete Beach, FL.
Violet was preceded in death by her siblings, James, Florence, Rose and John as well as by her husbands, George and Philip.
Surviving are her loving family: a brother, Ben and a sister, Marianne; her sons, Greg DeBaylo, George J. DeBaylo Jr. and Gary DeBaylo; her daughters-in-law, Laura, Teri and Rhonda; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was loved by many, and will be missed dearly.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Jack O’Kane will be celebrated on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ 08822 under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. Burial will follow in the family plot at Union Cemetery of Wertsville, North Hill Road, Ringoes, NJ.
Calling hours will be Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Friday, June 23, 2017 from 9:00-9:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
There will be a memorial service at a later date to be announced in St. Pete Beach, FL.
