Warren G. Patterson, Jr., age 70 years, of Monroe, NC, former longtime resident of Raritan Township, NJ, died suddenly on Friday, July 28, 2017 in Charlotte, NC of natural causes.
He leaves behind his devoted wife Susan R. Patterson; daughters Sherri and Georgia of Monroe, NC , and son Stanley of Tallahassee, FL; along with three grandchildren, Lexi, Tyler and Jackson.
Warren devoted his life to service, firefighting for over 47 years, and volunteering. He was a member of the US Air force, serving a tour in Vietnam, and also a member of the US Coast Guard. He retired from Bay County, Florida as Fire Chief and then moved to Flemington, NJ to be deputy director of Emergency management for Raritan Township. He was also a member of the Raritan Township fire company.
Warren was known for dropping everything to help you out and then just replying back “that’s what I’m here for”. He was excited for the upcoming band season where he was helping to build props for the CATA Band Field Show.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. This will be followed with Air Force Military Honors, a Fireman’s Service/Office of Emergency Management/Last Call along with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Those wishing to have something read on their behalf at the service are asked to e-mail their thoughts to careteam@wrightfmily.com.
Interment in the family plot at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ will be private at a later date.
