Wolter R. Amargos, age 85 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024, at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Bayamo Oriente, Cuba, to the late Armando and Irais Amargos, Wolter came to the United States in December of 1964. Marrying Antonia in September of 1962, they lived in Elizabeth and Roselle Park, NJ, Forks Township, PA, and then later moved to Flemington, NJ, to be closer to the family.
Wolter and Antonia’s marriage was a true love story. They went everywhere together and were inseparable throughout their sixty-one years of marriage. They were so in tune with each other that they often dressed in matching outfits.
Wolter enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved dancing, traveling, music, chocolate, Burger King, and movies, but most of all he loved his family and leaves behind a wonderful legacy.
Wolter was a wonderful father who enjoyed spending time with his children, David and Lizeth, and he was adored by them. He later became a grandfather and was known as “Papa” by his granddaughters, Vanessa and Jessica. This name stuck with him for the rest of his life. He later became a great grandfather “Papa” to Juliette and Zachary.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Nelson and Franklin.
Surviving is the love of his life Antonia; his son, David (wife Mercedes); daughter Lizeth (husband Jose Felix); granddaughters, Vanessa (husband Nick) & Jessica (husband Fady); great grandchildren Juliette and Zachary; sister, Gretel Amargos; brothers, Lincoln and Anibal; many loving nieces; nephews; cousins; and several dear friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, 10:00 a.m. at St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. All are welcome to go directly to the church on Friday.
Arrangements were under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
